Command to install netmeeting in xp

When I open a shortcut, say to run eclipse, Windows always opens a cmd window to launch the app, and the window always hangs around. But it would be nice if the shortcut window would immediately close after it launches the app. Is this something I can control? I have never noticed this behavior yet. Give me more information: How did you create these shortcuts? I was always waiting for windows to prompt me to clean up my temp files, etc.
